Ranging in age from 10 to 60, women fuel wood carriers are among the poorest in Ethiopia, with incomes averaging less than $12 a month. Often the sole provider for their households, these strong women struggle to meet financial, education and health care challenges. As we hear their stories and their hopes for the future, we understand the complexity of the need and work with former women fuel wood carriers to identify effective ways to respond to those needs.

We are a non-profit, social enterprise addressing the needs of women and families living in Mt. Entoto, Ethiopia by supporting sustainable income development, improved educational opportunities and increased access to basic health care.
I am Gete and I am 65 years old. Hardship in life has taught me a lot. I don’t know what the future holds for me, but I believe good things will come as I continue to weave and work with Connected in Hope.
