Meet the Interns: Nikita
Nikita Shamadasani has been an invaluable addition to the Connected in Hope- Ethiopia team this summer. She is serving as an Operations and Programs intern through our partnership with Cherokee Gives Back. Nikita will tackle a variety of projects this summer ranging from quality control and production management to inventory and sales logistics. From day 1, Nikita jumped in with both feet with a willing attitude and a compassionate heart. We are so grateful to Nikita for sharing heart, her skills (and her summer!) with us.
Here’s what Nikita had to say about herself:
My name is Nikita Shamdasani and I’m super excited to be working in Ethiopia for the next two months as an intern for Connected in Hope! I’m a first-year at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, double majoring in International Studies and Political Science with a minor in Business Administration (for now). Ultimately, I hope to use my degree to secure a job in consulting. Through this internship, I hope to form a better understanding of the political and logistical struggles that the women of the Former Women Fuel Wood Carriers Association face, as well as the best way to incorporate business practices that will help the women increase their efficiency and profits. I’ve already seen how hard working and generous these women are, and they deserve to have the resources that will allow them to earn more money. Over the past two weeks, I’ve been lucky enough to get to know Nate and Pam (both have been a clear indication of the great people involved in this organization), and I can’t wait to get to know these amazing women as well!
